Supercharge Your Savings at ALDI: Double Guarantee

So what else can a store do to supercharge our savings when they already have great regular prices and superb weekly specials? ALDI believes so much in their products and are confident that you will love them too, that they even guarantee your purchase. And that’s not any guarantee, this is ALDI’s Double Guarantee. Yup, that’s right, if you aren’t completely happy with what you brought home at an already supercharged bargain, they will double supercharge it by replacing AND refunding it. So let’s do the math. Let’s say you bought a waffle maker for $20:

+           1	Replacement
=  1 FREE	Waffle maker

Our Double Guarantee Experience

Not too long ago we purchased a 5-tier metal shelving unit that was a Special Buy. At Home Depot something similar was selling for $80-100 and at ALDI it was a notable bargain at $40. We scooped up one of the last ones and proudly took it home to our garage.

As we were putting it together we realized that one of the posts had a manufacturer’s defect and was missing screw threads. Pretty much unusable. We hauled it back and while my husband hid behind the dried foods aisle pretending not to know me, I approached the manager. I explained the problem (defective piece in hand) and asked if the double guarantee could apply.

“No problem,” he said, “We can do that.” He gave us a cash refund on the spot, we picked up the last shelf in the store, and set up our new FREE shelf in our garage (thankfully this one didn’t have a defect). ALDI may have lost $40, but they definitely gained our loyalty as a customer!

*ALDI’s fine print states that the double guarantee doesn’t apply to “non-food Special Buy items”. We were blessed, but make sure you read the fine print and then remember to ask nicely. =)

But perhaps more important than supercharging your already good deal, is to remember to be honest, gracious, and thankful. A good deal is no longer a good deal if you bend the truth, have a bad attitude at the cashier, or take for granted someone going the extra mile for you. Remember:
